Eligible teams for 2022 Asian Cup to be determined based on 2020 MNL result

The Myanmar National League (MNL) competition will not be held this year, and thus the eligible teams to compete in 2022 Asian level club qualifiers will be determined based on the results of the previous 2020 MNL tourney result.
The Myanmar National League officially announced on 1 September that it has cancelled all scheduled matches this year due to the COVID-19 epidemic and will resume them next year.
However, the Asian Champions League and AFC Cup will be held as usual, and the Myanmar National League will only allow the winner and runner-up of the previous season to compete in the international tourney.
The MNL Defending Champion Shan United will be in the group stages of the Asian Champions League and AFC Cup while the runners-up team, Hantharwady United will compete in the AFC Cup qualifiers.
Shan United have been competing in Asian club competitions in recent years, while Hantharwady has been the first to do so.
Both teams have withdrawn from the Asian Club Championship in 2021.
