Emphasis placed on tourism promotion in Ayeyawady Region

Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine together with Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win meets government officials and businesspersons in the hotels and tourism industry at Azura Hotel in Chaungtha beach on 24 February.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine and Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region U Tin Maung Win visited Azura Hotel in Chaungtha Beach to hold a meeting with government officials and businesspersons in the hotels and tourism industry on 24 February.
She discussed importance of maintaining cleanliness and promoting sustainability at Chaungtha Beach, lower number of foreign visitors to the beach than local visitors and the need for cooperation between the public and private sectors to strengthen travel campaigns.
Additionally, the Chief Minister provided insights into travel destinations at the beach, promotional efforts, cleanliness initiatives, and human resource development endeavours.
The Union minister visited New Chaungtha Hotel to observe its operations. The following day, she visited more hotels and stopped at the Sea & Lake Resort to check its operations regarding ecotourism service and the mangrove forest bridge.
At Pathein Hotel, she briefed the attendees on the ministry’s initiatives and aspirations and addressed the challenges they face.
Later, she paid homage to the Shwemokhtaw Pagoda and inspected the pilgrimage facilities. Her tour also included an exploration of Strand Road in Pathein. — MNA/NT
