Traditional dancers perform at the Yangon City Hall Central Pandal in the previous year.

Ethnic cultural dance troupes have once again been invited to perform at the Thingyan Festival’s programme at the Yangon City Hall Central Pandal, as in previous years. This was confirmed by U Aung Myint Khant, a committee official responsible for organizing the Maha Thingyan Water Festival of Yangon City.
He mentioned that last year, 26 traditional cultural dance troupes representing various ethnic groups, such as Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Dawei, PaO, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan, participated in the festival. Additionally, new ethnic dance troupes and choreographed group dance troupes have been invited this year alongside the ones that performed in the previous festival. — ASH/TKO
