First cash donation ceremony set for offering gold plates to Uppatasanti Pagoda

A ceremony to donate cash for offering gold plates to the whole structure of Uppatasanti Pagoda will take place at Dhammayon on the pagoda platform at 1:00 pm on 13 March.
A total of 3,485 gold plates are required to cover the entire area of the pagoda, which measures 3,485.87 square feet. As of the end of February, only 526 gold plates have been donated.
According to the pagoda’s board of trustees, each gold plate can be donated at a rate of K2.5 million. The trustees have invited well-wishers wishing to donate cash for the gold plates to attend the ceremony in person and make their contributions. — TWA/KZL
