Shwemyinzu Pagoda (Indawgyi) to hold 155th alms donation ceremony

The 155th alms donation ceremony and rice offering ceremony will be held at the Shwemyinzu mid-water Pagoda (Indawgyi) in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, in the second week of March.
The alms donation ceremony and rice offering ceremony will take place starting 17 March (8th waxing of Taboung), but a total of 180 monks and 90 nuns will be offered alms and rice by respective departmental staff, members of the board of trustees, ethnic traditional cultural troupes, residents, and pilgrims from around the region on 24 March (the full moon day of Taboung).
The Shwemyintzu mid-water Pagoda (Indawgyi) festival takes place from 8th waxing to the full moon day of Taboung annually. This year, there will reduce to minimum ceremony. — TWA/MKKS
