Flood impacted road transport at 1 pm on 20 July in Mudon Township, Mon State due to the continuous rainfall from 4 pm on 19 July.
The heavy rainfall resulted in a flood on Mawlamyine-Thanbyuzayat Road between Hneepadaw village and Yaungdaung village in Mudon Township.
The flood risk occurs yearly on that road part. The depth of road floods is about 2.5 feet. The flooded road hinders the commutes. The vehicles and motorcycles stopped on the road. Only the emergency vehicles are allowed to pass the flooded road. The flood depth is slowly rising, so the road condition is under watch, said an administrator of Hneepadaw village.
The officials concerned of the related department, police, fire police, rescue team and residents are carefully monitoring the flood damage for road safety. – Aung Myo Thu (IPRD)/GNLM
