Flood victims in Kayin State receive cash assistance and relief aids

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win encourages flood victims in Hpa-an Township of Kayin State yesterday.

People in Kayin State are receiving flood relief items provided by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement as they are suffering from flooding due to heavy rains this week.
Union Minister Dr Soe Win and officials handed over foodstuffs to flood-affected people living temporarily in the flood relief camps in Hpa-an yesterday morning.
They also observed the evacuation of flood victims in Kyondoe, Kawkareik Township and provided cash and relief items on the same day.
The Union minister presented rice bags worth over K31 million and instant foods worth over K2 million to 3,470 people of 704 households who are staying temporarily at nine flood relief camps in Hpa-an.
Similarly, he provided rice bags worth over K6 million and instant foods worth over K840,000 to 752 people of 172 households who are staying temporarily at three flood relief camps in Kyondoe. — MNA/KZL
