The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) announced on 23 April that new football academy students will be recruited.
For the 2024 academic year, new students for the Myanmar Football Academy (Mandalay) and National Football Academy (Yangon) will be recruited through the TDS Scouting Programme.
New students who wish to attend must be born between 2009 and 2013 and must be male.
Those who apply must submit the citizenship scrutiny card, birth certificate, household registration card, school transcript, and licence photo together.
Applications will be collected in person from 23 April 2024, and applications must be submitted by 3 May. Preliminary selection will be made on 4 and 5 May in (Myitkyina, Taunggyi and Mandalay) for Upper Myanmar and (Yangon, Bago and Pathein) for Lower Myanmar.
The final selection will be held at the Myanmar Football Academy (Mandalay) on 11 and 12 May for Upper Myanmar and at the National Football Academy (Yangon) on 15 and 16 May for Lower Myanmar.
Selected academy students will receive free tuition for classroom and football studies.
The students can become national team players and professional players who will be able to make a living depending on their skills and efforts. The academies will systematically nurture the students to become good players who can be relied upon for the future Myanmar national team.
Students must follow the rules established by the academy and learn to study in class and football. In the selection of these new students, under the leadership of Japanese coach Mr Mita, the director of youth football, selection teams will be formed, and the preliminary and final selections will be made step by step. — TWA/KZL
