Growing interest in advanced operator training among sewing circles

With the growing interest among factory workers and external trainees, Advanced Sewing Machine Operator Training (Batch – 6) will be opened in the last week of March, according to the Myanmar Garment Human Resource Development Centre (MGHRDC).

This course to be offered in late March 2024 by the Myanmar Garment Association (MGMA) will cover various sewing patterns including patch pockets, spirals, shoulder straps, bags, inseam pockets, simple zipper, hidden zipper, men jersey, long-sleeve shirt and skirt. Moreover, the uses of special equipment such as button hole machine, button attached machine, bartack machine, overlock 4 thread, overlock 5 thread and 2 needle machine will also be trained at MGHRDC.

“This course is for those who have basic sewing machine skills. It includes sewing a full shirt and skirt. For skirts, trainees must measure themselves. Many people are interested in this training. There are factory workers and outsiders among the participants,” said an official of the course.

Advanced Sewing Machine Operator Training will be opened once in two months with K 30,000 as training fee and if the trainees want to join a factory after completing this course, they will be helped to get a job in the factories.
