Hanthawady stop defending champion Shan United’s winning streak

The first day of the Week 9 of Myanmar National League 2022 was held on 20 August at the Thuwunna stadium, and the defending champion Shan United and the Hanthawady United played to a draw with two goals each.
Current champion Shan United team’s eight-game winning streak was stopped in the ninth game by the Hanthawady team. Shan United’s winning streak stopped, but they continued to lead at the top of the table. The Hanthawady team tried to get a good result and managed to get a draw with a late goal.
Both teams used a full set of core players, and the Shan United team included both foreign and local players in the starting lineup. Both teams tried to score from the beginning, but the Hanthawady team made an icebreaker near the end of the first half.
Myo Zaw Oo scored the leading goal for the Hanthawady team in the 45th minute. In the first half, the Shan United team tried to equalize at the beginning of the second half, and in the 47th minute, right-back player Kyaw Zin Lwin headed a corner kick and scored the equalizing goal.
By scoring an equalizing goal, the Shan United team could press harder, and Mark Saki scored the second goal in the 53rd minute. After that, the Hanthawady tried to equalize and the Shan United team tried to maintain the winning result.
Shan United’s winning streak was broken in the 88th minute, and Aung Myo Thura scored the equalizer for Hanthawady.
Shan United team has 25 points after playing nine games in the first round while Hanthawady has 11 points.
