Highway accidents result in 70 deaths within 9 months

According to the Expressway Police Force Office, more than 120 traffic accidents occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in nine months of this year.
In the nine months from January to September, there were 126 traffic accidents on the expressway, resulting in 254 injuries and 70 deaths. Most traffic accidents are caused by the negligence of the driver.
Compared to the same period in 2022, there were 132 traffic accidents, 184 injured people, and 45 dead, and the loss value was K248,329,000.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of deaths due to traffic accidents in regions, states, and the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway was higher in Magway Region, Shan State, and the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, while it decreased in Nay Pyi Taw and other regions and states. — TWA/CT
