“Hlapa Thaya Pyi Myanmar” colour photo competition award-giving ceremony held

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, departmental officials, the Photo Selecting Team chairman and members, award winners and guests attended the award-giving ceremony of “Hlapa Thaya Pyi Myanmar” (Beautiful & Pleasant Myanmar) colour photo competition marking the 74th Independence Day in Yangon yesterday.
First, the Union minister said there were 140 photographers from different regions and states who participated in the photo contest with 338 photos. There will be eight prizes – first, second and third and the other five special awards.
He then talked about the important role of media in this changing technological era, spreading of different cultures in a good momentum to the world via IT, some impacts of media faced by world countries and he mentioned the media sector as a main pillar of the country to ensure the stability, peace and socio-economic status of the country.
Then, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein made a greeting speech and Photo Selecting Team Chairman Painter Soe Moe briefed the selecting processes. Then, the Union minister and other officials presented awards to the winners of the photo contest.
The first prize winner U Zaw Min Lwin expressed words of thanks on behalf of the recipients of awards. The Union minister and party then viewed the photos.
The Union minister and the region chief minister also watched the recording processes of the “Chit Thae Swal MRTV Orchestra” Friday Night Live Show at Studio (A) of MRTV on 4 March.
Before the entertaining processes, the Union minister and party cordially greeted the artistes. Then, the Union minister, the region chief minister and the chairman of the Myanmar Press Council gave the flower basket and cash-prizes to MRTV Orchestra. –MNA
