Hybrid Seminar on Innovation and Young Entrepreneurship for Regional Development opened

An opening ceremony of the Hybrid Seminar on Innovation and Young Entrepreneurship for Regional Development was held at the Ministry of Industry yesterday with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2nd batch).
Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Deputy Minister U Yin Maung Nyunt, Minister Counsellor of Chinese Embassy Dr Zheng Zhihong, the directors-general, the managing directors, Vice-Chair U Win Zeya Tun of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation National Coordination Unit (Myanmar), international economic experts, delegations from related ministries of the Mekong-Lancang region and officials of the Ministry of Industry attended the event.
Union Industry Minister Dr Charlie Than said an economic ecosystem would be implemented through the cooperation of Mekong-Lancang regional countries – China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Viet Nam and Myanmar – for entrepreneurs, investors, experts and think-tank institutions and relevant individuals to carry out entrepreneurial businesses.
The Union minister stressed that the seminar aims to strengthen cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship among regional countries, share knowledge and know-how on services, distribution channels of goods, firm brands and labels, and systematically utilize the digital system in the MSME businesses.
He called on young entrepreneurs to present their creations and innovations in order to improve the quality of local products.
Chinese Minister Counsellor Dr Zheng Zhihong remarked that the seminar is the foundation that can share the knowledge for innovations and entrepreneurial skills in the region. It would benefit young entrepreneurs to implement new markets.
The seminar will be convened for three days until 24 July, it is reported. — MNA
