Illegal foodstuffs, consumer goods, industrial materials, motorbikes and vehicles confiscated

The combined on-duty teams captured an unregistered Toyota Corolla car (approximately worth K3 million) in Dagon Myothit (North) Township on 7 September and three Sunlong buses (approximately worth K120 million) carrying 16 kinds of goods worth K26,808,400 including 1,440 bottles of Brand’s bird nest and a Yamaha R15 motorbike near the Shwe Thanlwin Tollgate on 8 September.
The Customs on-duty teams under the supervision of the Customs Department conducted inspections on 8 September and seized 7,000 boxes of Boni D tablet that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) and a total of six kinds of goods worth K40.602 million including 150 sets of multi-fashion electric pot that were not declared in the ID from seven containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and a Changlong tractor head, an Isuzu tractor head, two trailers and a Toyota HiAce vehicle (estimated value of K115 million), headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying K17.358 million worth of 55 Shenyuan inverter welding machines that were not declared in the ID, 4,000 kilogrammes of LLDPE linear low density polyethylene that exceeded the ID and 5,000 bottles of M-150 energy drink without official documents at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint.
The combined teams confiscated a Nissan Condor (estimated value of K30 million), travelling from Myawady to Mawlamyine, carrying five kinds of goods worth K6.24 million including 2,400 bags of smart softener fragrance liquid and 5,400 bags of Yum Yum instant noodles without official documents at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint on 8 September and a Dongfeng tractor head with a trailer (estimated value of K85 million), headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying two kinds of goods worth K24.141 million including 330 sets of Yang Khun electric motor and 225 sets of BIFA submersible water pump without official documents in Hpa-an township on 9 September.
A total of 25 arrests were made from 7 to 9 September with an estimated value of K468,149,400. — MNA/ MKKS
