Managed by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, action is being taken against illegal trades under the law.
On 4 April, the combined on-duty inspection teams under the management of the Customs Department carried out inspections at the Yepu Checkpoint. They seized agricultural materials (estimated at K193,760,000) but that did not show any official documents and a 12-wheel truck which carried these materials (estimated at K25,000,000), totalling K218,760,000. Action is taken under the Customs Law.
Similarly, on 5 April, a combined inspection team under the management of the Customs Department carried out inspections at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State. It seized the soft drinks (estimated at K2,860,000) that did not show any official documents, and action is taken under the Customs Law. A combined inspection team under the management of the Sagaing Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force carried out inspections. It seized 2.398 tonnes of illegal teak (estimated at K686,400) in Katha Township, Katha District and action is taken under the Forest Law. Thus, five arrests were made on 4 April and 5 April (estimated value of K222,306,400). — MNA
