Illegal timbers, crude oil, industrial materials, foodstuffs, consumer goods and vehicles confiscated

The combined on-duty teams nabbed a total of 0.54 tonne of illegal timbers worth K40,000 near Kywaldagah protected forest in Pwintbyu township and a total of 2.786 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K339,700 in Thettawshay Ward in Pwintbyu township and 912 gallons of illegal crude oil worth K2.736 million from a Skat vehicle (approximately worth K18 million) near Kyaukpal-Minbu road in Minbu (Saku) township on 25 August. The action was taken under the Forest Law and the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law.
On 28 August, an on-duty team at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint impounded 47,200 kilogrammes of pigment powder coating without an import licence from two containers. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, the combined teams captured a Toyota Voxy car (estimated value of K8 million) carrying 25 bags of AFM smoked chicken sausage and 25 bags of smoked crispy skin Vienna chicken sausage cheese filling worth K3.25 million near Myaynigone traffic light in Myawady township and an Isuzu Giga truck (estimated value of K60 million) carrying six kinds of goods worth K20.829 million including 430 hair clippers and 1,000 kilogrammes of photo paper without official documents at the Kamaukkasin combined checkpoint in Hpa-an township. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Therefore, 15 arrests (estimated value of K130,045,100) were made on 25 and 28 August, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
