A delegation led by Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) Air Vice-Marshal Ichettira Iyappa Kuttappa VM VSM of the Indian Air Force arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on 13 May to attend the sixth Myanmar Air Force-Indian Air Force Air Staff Talks. It was welcomed at Nay Pyi Taw Airport by senior air force officers, the Indian Defence Attaché to Myanmar and officials.
On 14 May, the talks was also attended by the Commander of Western Air Force Command of Tatmadaw (Air) and party, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) Air Vice-Marshal Ichettira Iyappa Kuttappa VM VSM of India and party, the Indian Defence Attaché to Myanmar and officials.
The Commander of Western Air Force Command of Tatmadaw (Air) and the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) gave opening speeches. Then, the accomplishment of the minutes of the fifth talks between India and Myanmar air forces were presented. Delegates from both countries discussed relevant topics during the meeting. The Tatmadaw (Air) hosted a dinner in honour of the talks at Park Royal Hotel.
On 15 May, the Indian delegation visited the Defence Services Museum, the Memorial to Fallen Heroes and the Gems Emporium in Nay Pyi Taw. It paid homage to the Uppatasanti Pagoda and Maravijaya Buddha Image.
At Flying Training Base on 16 May, an official explained the history of the base to the Indian Air Vice-Marshal. The guests viewed round the Apron 1.
In the afternoon, the Indian guests visited Bogyoke Aung San market and paid homage to Shwedagon Pagoda.
On 17 May, the Indian Air Vice-Marshal and party were seen off at Yangon International Airport by senior military officers from Tatmadaw (Air), the Indian Defence Attaché and officials. — MNA/TTA
