Importation of oxygen tanks, anti-COVID-19 medicines and related materials continues

A total of 97 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 2 oxygen generators, 6,696 oxygen concentrators, 4 units of oxygen plant, 7 tonnes of the glove and 92 tonnes of masks were imported through the Yangon International Airport and border trade points yesterday.
The government is allowing continuous importation of oxygen, medicines and related materials that are in urgent need for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in the country.
Since 12 July, when the COVID-19 outbreak began to rise nationwide, priority is given to the importation of anti-COVID-19 medicines and related equipment. Relevant departmental officials cooperate to facilitate and speed up the importation during the period designated as public holidays.
As of yesterday, from 12 July, a total of 655 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 62 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 21,174 oxygen concentrators, 134,500 test kits and 542 tonnes of masks were imported.—MNA
