Union Auditor-General Dr Kan Zaw opens the In-house Skill Development Training No 38 for Senior Auditors in Nay Pyi Taw on 16 August.

The opening ceremony of In-house Skill Development Training No 38 for Senior Auditors was held at 4 pm on 16 August at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Auditor-General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw and the Union Auditor-General, the permanent secretary, the director-general (Audit Department), the deputy permanent secretary, deputy directors-general, responsible persons, trainers, and trainees attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Union Auditor-General Dr Kan Zaw delivered an address that the training aims to enhance the capability of audit and strengthen human resource development; the senior auditors, as members or leaders of the audit team, need to be aware of the progressive changes in office and professional auditing practices and conduct the work adaptably. Consequently, he added that the auditors are the ones who protect the public interests and steer to ensure that the revenues are fully received and the expenses are utilized effectively and beneficially for the public by auditing to strengthen public financial management; therefore, it is needed to understand the nature of the audited departments and organizations by communicating with mutual respect and conducting the audit effectively in line with International Standards.
In addition, he urged the trainees to apply the knowledge from training effectively in the field and try to become good civil servants who can fulfil the visions of the office and the nation.
Then, the headmistress of the training school, the Office of the Auditor-General of the Union, clarified the training information.
Afterwards, the Union Auditor-General greeted the trainees with a friendly greeting and the ceremony concluded.
During the three-week training period of 16-8-2022 to 8-9-2022, two from the Head Office and the Union Territory each and 107 from the Auditor-General’s Offices of States/Regions, totalling 111, will attend the training, and six subjects, including ISSAI-Based Financial Audit, Performance Audit, and Compliance Audit, and practical activities related to the auditing process in the form of role-playing, will be taught. — MNA
