Interested contestants invited to 19th Japanese Language Translation Test

Japanese Literature Translation Contest 2024

Jointly organized by the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) and the Japan Foundation, Yangon, the 19th Japanese Language Translation Contest is inviting interested contestants, according to the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar.

The test which aims to foster professional translators will be held in two categories- Japanese language translation test for advanced level and junior level translation test for those who are learning basic level Japanese language (N3 level).

Along with honorary certificate, prizes will be awarded to winners, plus a plan for inviting to Japan if there are people who meet requirements.

Duration of the submission of application forms is 16-30 January 2024 and it can be submitted to https://forms.gle/kDdvvVFtDuNXGxB27 for advanced level and https://forms.gle/T453ml3YAE4Yzd6w8 for junior level.

Email will be sent directly to contestants for advanced level for the subject of translation on 15 February 2024 and translated version will have to be sent by email no later than 21 February. There is no age discrimination and anyone in Myanmar is eligible to take part in the contest, including those who previously participated and didn’t win.

Junior level translation test will be held by Zoom on 18 February from 9:00am to 12:00pm and the subject of translation will be sent on the same day, and contestants must be under the age of 25 and including those who have previously contested and won no prize, anyone in Myanmar are eligible to take part.
