Invest in education to enjoy fruits for future generations

Article

Education is a powerful tool to shape the society.
Depending on the levels of educated persons, relevant countries shape their future because those educated would steer their future.
Debasish Mridha, an American physician, philosopher, poet-seer, and author, said the best investment for poverty elimination is education. It is a universal truth. As a nature of the acquisition, the investors cannot enjoy the benefits from their investments in a short period. After taking adequate time, they can enjoy the fruits of their assets.
Likewise, the investment from the education sector cannot emerge the fruitful results immediately. But the benefit from the investment will come out in real-time. The governments in successive eras of Myanmar have put investments in the education sector as part of efforts to improve society.
The Ministry of Education is currently implementing the educational work procedures in line with the national education strategic plan (2016-2021). The ministry has decided not to change the school curriculums of the basic education sector used in previous governments in the coming academic year.

Particularly, there are more than 1 million basic education students to attend over 2,700 basic education schools at different levels depending on locations and situations.

The Ministry of Education has clearly announced to open the basic education schools on 1 June 2021. Moreover, the period from 24 to 31 May is set as a school enrollment week for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Moreover, the ministry has announced that any charges will not be collected from students for their enrollment. And, the basic education schools have arranged to provide two reusable masks, one face shield, school textbooks, notebooks, pencils, and ball pens distributed to the students free of charge. Relevant schools have arranged for students to wash their hands many times in line with the Covid-19 health guidelines.
Particularly, there are more than 1 million basic education students to attend over 2,700 basic education schools at different levels depending on locations and situations.
Actually, basic education teachers need to enhance their capacity for having the readiness to teach their pupils. Basic education students need to prepare their learning plans under the control of parents. School structures must be ready to admit the learning society. Hence, the authorities need to take responsibilities to create a safe and sound academic environment for all.
