Islands in Kawthoung bustling with Thingyan holidaymakers

In addition to locals, travellers from various parts of the country visit islands in Kawthoung during the Thingyan holidays. The Kawthoung harbour was seen busy with groups of travellers and speed boats yesterday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kawthoung tourism sector was suspended, and as the government has resumed the tourism sector under the COVID-19 rules and regulations at present, the seaside of Kawthoung is bustling again with holidaymakers.
According to the tour companies, the tours include day trips and overnight trips on islands, and most people usually make day trips, especially during the Thingyan holidays.
Kawthoung tourism is famous for its splendid beaches on Nyaungoophee Island, Saturn Island, Myinkhwa Island, Kyatmauk Island (Heart-shape island), Zardetgyi Island, Khayinkhwa Island, Paradise Island, which are all located in the Andaman Sea.—Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)/GNLM
