K1.93 billion worth of heroin impounded in Mandalay

The Anti-Drug Police Force seized 77.52 kilogrammes of heroin worth K1.93 billion in the Yamethin township of Mandalay Region.
The combined team consisting of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a Dyna vehicle driven by Aung Myo Htet (aka) Nge Nge accompanied by Yarzar Soe (aka) Soe Nge at Thinpangon junction in Yamethin township of Mandalay region at 1:30 am on 20 July. They found 77.5 kilogrammes of heroin and as an interrogation result, the team found Zaw Oo, Khun Htun Lin, Maung Nyein, Ko Lay(aka) Thant Zaw Tun, Aik Aum, Thein Lin Maung (aka) Dozer, Tun Tun Oo (aka) Kyiba and Kyaw Thu, who are drugs dealers, from a lodge in Shwepyitha, Aungmingalagyi ward of Yamethin at 4 am. The team confiscated 0.02 kilogramme of heroin, a Hijet vehicle, a Surf vehicle, and a four-wheel double-cab. The total weight of the seized heroin was 77.52 kg and worth K1.93 billion. According to the examination, stockpiled heroin will be carried from Shan State (South) to Mandalay Region and they are prosecuted under respective laws and perpetrators of the crime chain are being investigated and identified, it is learnt. — MNA
