K320 million worth of heroin seized in Nawnghkio township

A total of 21.6 kilogrammes of heroin worth K320 million were captured in Nawnghkio Township of Shan State (North), according to the Police Force.
A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force captured 21.6 kilogrammes of heroin worth K320 million from a 12-wheel Fuso car driven by Ye Kyaw Thura heading from Hsipaw to Mandalay near the Tollgate on the Mandalay-Lashio Road in Nawnghkio Township on 3 June at 2 pm, acting on tip-off.
According to the investigation, the suspect admitted the seized drugs to be carried from Shan State (North) to Mandalay Region. Police are investigating and he is being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the Myanmar Police Force stated. — MNA
