Kachin State Chief Minister aids returning IDPs, inspects food distribution for PutaO govt staff

The Kachin State government provided basic foodstuffs and items to the households residing at the temporary shelters who will return to their places of origin and Ngwepyaw Sanpya village at Jarmaing Kaung RC camp in Myothitgyi ward in Myitkyina Township yesterday.

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan mentioned the assistance to the internally displaced persons and encouraged displaced persons.

Relevant officials then provided K818,4000 worth of 66 rice bags and 66 cooking oil bottles, 66 egg cartons and 66 instant noodle cartons for 335 people of 66 households who will return to Ngwepyaw Sanpya village of Palana village-tract and their respective wards and villages.

Moreover, the Kachin State Natural Disaster Management Department gave K13,203,816 worth of rice and K100,000 to each household and 66 packages containing 16 recuse items, totalling K21,387,816, to them.

The camp in-charges also expressed gratitude, and the chief minister cordially met households.

The chief minister and party proceeded to Myitkyina airport and inspected the transport of basic foodstuffs by flights to provide government employees in PutaO district for the first time. He gave cash awards to officers and staff of the Kachin State General Administrative Department who participated in food transport. – IPRD/KTZH
