Kachin State ministers inspect preparations to open Rawang National Museum

A team comprising Kachin State Minister U Kyaw Min Khaing for Ethnic Affairs, Kachin State Minister for Natural Resources U Teint Hsaung, officials of Putao district administration body and members went on a survey to check the preparations for the opening of Rawang National Museum at Dotehtan Ward, Putao city at 1 pm on 7 March.
The ministers and officials concerned conducted the readiness assessment at the Rawang National Park and the displays of Rawang ethnic people’s traditional and cultural artefacts. They are directed to fulfil their needs.
Afterwards, the ministers met with the officials of the Rawang Literature and Culture Association and U Kyaw Min Khaing instructed them to fulfil the needs in measuring readiness before the opening ceremony. The chair of the Rawang Literature and Culture Association requested the officials to construct the archway of Rawang National Park and Rawang National Museum. He also called for supply of electricity infrastructure and cement requirements.
The Rawang National Museum was constructed with the National Disaster Management Fund of K400 million. The museum aims to maintain Rawang ethnic people’s cultural heritage and contribute to the tourism industry. It is hoped to become one of the landmarks in Putao city. — District IPRD/GNLM
