Ko Than Naing, secretary of Kadu Literature Exploration Committee, said that they have a plan to establish a museum to show the history of the Kadu people.
At the moment, the committee is collecting the goods of the Kadu people after building the Kadu Cultural Museum in Bamauk. Later, they aim to expand the museum to showcase the history of the Kadu people.
“The museum will be built depending on funding amount. At present, it is not so big. It shows current tools. Later when we get a bigger space, we plan to build a larger museum to show ancient materials also. But, that building hasn’t been constructed yet,” he said.
In the existing small building, only current artefacts of the Kadu people in Kadu-Kanan area will be displayed and the opening date of the already-built museum has not yet been decided, he added.
“There is no exact completion figure or percentage for collecting Kadu cultural goods. We are working to show the materials used in Kadu area. Right now, it seems to be temporarily suspended as we are waiting for a while and we cannot start the field work,” he said.
