Malicious Khit Thit media circulated fake news on social media accusing security forces of occupying the Nanpayote village monastery in Palaw Township, Taninthayi Region, for two days and capturing six Sanghas to use as human shields when they left it on Thursday.
A security force member clarified that they had never occupied the monastery or captured any Sangha.
