Internal Revenue Department has announced the townships in Yangon and Mandalay regions where PJ and PS passport holders can obtain tax clearance certificates.
Passports for jobs (PJ) and passports for seamen (PS) can be renewed only with the tax clearance certificate from the respective township revenue offices.
The township revenue offices where the tax clearance certificate can be obtained are Yankin, Dagon Myothit (South), Insein and Dawbon townships in Yangon Region, and Maha Aungmyay and Chanmyathazi townships in Mandalay Region.
In other regions, states or the union territory, tax clearance certificates can be obtained from the revenue offices in the townships where the passport issuing offices are located.
To obtain a tax clearance certificate, photocopies of the passport proof, the citizenship scrutiny card, the household list, the proof of salary income (such as a portage bill for a seafarer) and the proof of OWIC number (or) CDC/SIRP number are required. — TWA/KZW
