Malaysia-bound drugs captured around 157 miles from southwest of Kawthoung

A combined team under the management of the Kachin State Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force confiscated 19 unregistered vehicles – a Toyota Landcruiser, two Toyota AD Van, a Toyota Noah, two Toyota Probox, two Honda fit, a Toyota Mark II, two Toyota Crown, a Toyota Voxy, a Ford and two Honda Ipsum – at the Namti, Mokaung and Nansiaung combined checkpoints on 18 October. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
The combined teams made inspections on 31 October and captured an unregistered Honda Freed (approximately worth K4 million) at the Eainshaepyin checkpoint in Dawei township and 10 sets of Any Tone walkie-talkie worth K3 million without official documents at the Pauktaing Bridge checkpoint, a Mitsubishi Fuso truck (estimated value of K45 million), headed to Yangon from Muse, carrying six kinds of goods worth K99.7 million, including 90 sets of Yuki airconditioner and 5,800 pairs of Nike sport shoes that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID), at the Ywathagyi Dry Port and 306,834 kilogrammes of Nabati cream wafer worth K534,378,900 without Import Licence from 50 containers at the Thilawa Port Terminal container checkpoint. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law and Customs procedures.
A total of 26 arrests were made on 18 and 31 October, with an estimated value of about K869.378 million, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
