Mann Shwesattaw Pagoda Festival organizers address excessive lodging fees concerns

The Board of Trustees of the Mann Shwesattaw Pagoda has stated that complaints regarding excessive lodging fees during the Mann Shwesattaw Pagoda Festival can be lodged with them, should they surpass the rates set by the relevant authorities.

The Mann Shwesattaw Pagoda Festival, known as the longest-running festival in Myanmar, typically takes place in Minbu Township of Magway Region and spans approximately two months.

This year’s festival boasts over 1,000 guest houses and more than 400 stalls.

Guest house rates are as follows: K100,000 per day for first-class rooms, K80,000 per day for second-class rooms, and K50,000 per day for third-class rooms. Waterfront lodgings are priced at K50,000 per day, while inland accommodations are priced at K35,000 per day.

The Mann Shwesattaw Pagoda Festival will run for 64 days, starting from the 5th waxing day of Tabodwe until the first day of the Myanmar New Year. — TWA/MKKS/KN
