MEB to increase interest rate for savings starting from 1 June

Myanma Economic Bank-MEB will increase the interest rates for savings accounts, certificate of deposit (CD) and fixed deposits starting from 1 June.
The interest rates will be raised to six per cent for savings accounts, seven per cent for certificate of deposit and seven per cent for fixed deposits for a one-year period, according to MEB.
The interest rates for fixed deposits will be six per cent for a one-month period, 6.25 per cent for a three-month period, 6.5 per cent for a six-month period and 6.75 per cent for a nine-month period.
The previous interest rates were 5.5 per cent for savings accounts, 6.5 per cent for certificate of deposit and 6.5 per cent for fixed deposits for a one-year period. – TWA/MKKS
