Ministries send out aid, relief materials to Rakhine State

As per the guidelines of the National Disaster Management Committee, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Border Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, the Ministry of Electric Power, and the Myanmar Economic Corporation loaded aid and relief materials, including concrete lamp-posts, transformers, electrical cables, timbers, tents, tarpaulin sheets, corrugated iron sheets, nails, cement bags, excavators and commercial vehicles, water purifiers, rice bags and instant noodles at the Myanmar Terminal (TMT), Yangon, under the supervision of the Transport Committee, for use in Rakhine state disaster relief operations.
MV Sunshine and MV Fortune left for Sittway yesterday afternoon and MV Aquarius reportedly left for Sittway on 19 May with aid and relief supplies. — MNA/CT
