MoALI to establish agro-based industry across the nation

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation organized a coordination meeting yesterday to draft plans to establish agro-based industries across the nation to improve the value-added production sector, to narrow the gap between the urban cities and villages and to create job opportunities in different regions and states.

At the meeting, Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo also discussed the establishment of agro-based industries across the nations and the designation of area for the pilot project.

He then stressed the need to produce value-added farming products, create job opportunities for residents. He added other matters to designate the pilot project area.

Then, the Leader of Myanma Social and Economic Development Centre, Dr Zaw Oo, presented the strategies and basic framework for the projects, and other Directors-General of respective departments, including Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi, coordinated the discussion. —MNA
