MoBA Union Minister inspects development activities in Putao, Kachin State

Accompanied by Border Affairs Minister of the Kachin State Colonel Aung Kyi Lin and officials, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung inspects the construction site of the Zion-Lantaung-Naung Khine inter-village road, which is carried out with the border area development fund of the 2022-2023 financial year on 17 November.
The Union minister met and provided foodstuffs to 76 displaced families from Machanbaw and Khaunglanphu townships at Zidan 2 village where they were resettled.
In the afternoon, the Union minister and party inspected the construction of bridges along the 25-mile-long Putao plain circular road, which is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Border Affairs, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and the Kachin State government. He exhorted officials to coordinate the requirements for the completion of construction in the financial year 2023-2024.
The Union minister met and coordinated with officials on paddy double-cropping in all seasons in order to ensure food security in the region and sufficient cultivation water through a solar power pumping system at the paddy seed plantation of the Putao Township Agriculture Department.
The Union minister and party met staff and students of the Women Vocational School in Putao and provided school uniforms, stationeries and sports accessories.— MNA
