MoC holds coordination meeting for Baht-Kyat direct trade on 10 March

The Ministry of Commerce made a virtual discussion about the use of Baht-Kyat in bilateral cross-border transactions between Myanmar and Thailand at 2:30 pm on 10 March.
The coordination meeting was organized by the Central Committee on Ensuring Smooth Flow of Trade and Goods and the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM). Present at the meeting were the chair of the central committee, Deputy Minister U Nyunt Aung for Commerce, CBM Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe, the joint secretary of the central committee and officials of the Trade Department, Myanmar Customs Department, Accounts Department of the CBM, Myanma Economic Bank, Internal Revenue Department, Ayeyawady Farmers Development Bank and Kasikornbank Public Company.
The meeting highlighted coordination between the departments concerned for the successful implementation of the use of Baht-Kyat in bilateral transactions, setting the pilot period for the Baht-Kyat direct payment trade in Myawady and Tachilek areas beginning 21 March, building a support team for the smooth coordination, raising public awareness of the guidelines for the use of Baht-Kyat in bilateral transactions in the third week of March, matters related to Baht-Kyat exchange rate, facilitation in cash withdrawal from the Baht-Kyat direct payment trade and trade reporting regimes. — MNA
