MoC Union Minister reviews housing development, transport sector in Yangon Region

Union Minister U Myo Thant inspects the public rental housing construction project site yesterday.

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant accompanied by Chairman of the Yangon Development Committee Mayor U Bo Htay inspected the public rental housing construction project site located between No 2 and No 7 Roads, Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region yesterday. Departmental officials and officials from private construction associations explained in detail the implementation of the project and Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay made a supplementary presentation.
The Union minister responded that under the guidance of the Head of State, public rental housing projects are being implemented for people to live comfortably, that the construction has been completed in Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay, and plans are underway to provide accommodation and to earmark for the construction of more buildings.
As for the Yangon public rental housing project, 82 per cent has been completed, and it is necessary to prioritize the completion of the project within the specified time with high quality and plan for accommodations depending on the completion, he added.
Union Minister U Myo Thant and party also inspected road expansion work along the No 2 Road and the No 3 Road from four lanes to six lanes and the laying of asphalt concrete (AC). The Union minister left the necessary instructions. — MNA/KZL
