MoCRD Union Minister attends 5th ASEAN Rural Development, Poverty Eradication Leadership Awards ceremony

ASEAN Rural Development Leadership and Poverty Eradication Leadership Awards Ceremony was co-hosted by the Philippine Poverty alleviation Commission and the ASEAN Secretariat yesterday afternoon via video conference.
The ceremony was attended by a delegation led by Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe and officials from Myanmar award-winning Mega Global Green Automation Company and Techno-Hill Engineering Company.
The aim of the 5th ASEAN Rural Development Leadership and Poverty Eradicaiton Leadership Awards Ceremony was to recognize effective achievements of NGOs/CSOs and private sectors from ASEAN countries in the areas of livelihood development and poverty alleviation and to enhance government-private-public participation.
ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ekkaphab Phantavong and Lead Convener Mr Noel K. Felongco of the Philippine Poverty alleviation Commission gave introductory speeches, and the NGO/CSO and private sectors from respective ASEAN countries which received awards explained their rural development activities.
Myanmar’s private sector winners Mega Global Green Automation and Techno-Hill Engineering presented a PowerPoint presentation on rural lighting, and received the ASEAN Rural Development Leadership and Poverty Eradication Leadership Awards, respectively.
Afterwards, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe congratulated the NGOs/CSOs and Private Sectors from various ASEAN countries who were awarded the Leadership Awards, saying that this award is not the result of a single group but all stakeholders. He also called on the winning organizations to work more closely with their respective countries and in the ASEAN ‌rural development and poverty alleviation activities and awarded certificates to Mega Global Green Automation and Techno-Hill Engineering, the ASEAN Leadership Award winners in Myanmar. — MNA
