MoEE reviews activities conducted in second quarter of 2020-2021FY

Union Minister U Aung Than Oo presides over the MoEE coordination meeting to review the work done in Q2 of 2020-2021FY.

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy held coordination meetings in order to review the ministry’s works done during the second quarter of 2020-2021FY and ongoing work plans to carry out in the third and fourth quarters in Nay Pyi Taw on 30 April and 1 May.
During the meetings, Union Minister U Aung Than Oo discussed the importance of electricity and energy sectors for developing the country and socio-economic of public and sufficient power distribution with stable volt and frequency.
The ministry is currently making efforts to fulfil the needs of electricity and energy as per the State’s policies. At the same time, the potential projects are being implemented in the country.
Moreover, the ministry arranges to generate power from hydro, solar and renewable sources with minor impacts on natural resources and the environment.
Although there were difficulties in reading meters, distributing bills and collecting bills, the public appreciated the ministry’s effort as it filled their power needs. Therefore, it should keep making efforts without just satisfying with such appreciation. Moreover, it should conduct bill collecting programmes as quickly as possible as they want to make the bill payments for their consumed power.
The Union Minister also instructed the need to train the newly assigned staff to serve their duties responsibly while communicating with the public.
He urged the region and state electrical engineers and the Department of Hydropower Implementation director to discuss their difficulties openly.
He then discussed the formation of servicing teams not to occur power cuts in monsoon despite the natural disaster and plans to supply sufficient power to the public.
The senior officers of relevant departments and enterprises, and engineers briefed the performance in the second quarter of the 2020-2021 financial year, further plans for the third and fourth quarters, including the river pumping project.
The Union Minister coordinated the discussion and gave necessary instructions.—MNA
