MoEP Union Minister inspects repair of Baelin-Ohntaw National Grid towers

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and officials yesterday inspected the repair works of Tower No 67, 68 and 69 on 230 kV Baelin-Ohntaw National Grid damaged by the gust on 20 April.
Officials reported on the cause of damage and the Union minister instructed for speedy completion of the repair to provide sufficient power supply to the public while prioritizing worksite safety.
The 230 kV Baelin-Ohntaw National Grid distributes 340 MW of electricity to towns and villages in Sagaing Region, Magway Region, Kachin State and Chin State and three towers of the National Grid were damaged by heavy winds on 20 April.
Under the supervision of the Department of Power Transmission and System Control, relevant offices were divided into three teams with 250 electricians to restore the towers of the National Grid. — MNA/MKKS
