MoHS discusses COVID-19 containment activities, vaccination programmes

The Ministry of Health and Sports organized virtual coordination meeting to discuss COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, vaccination programmes and further work plans yesterday.
During the meeting, Union Minister Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win discussed the need to continue the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities including vaccination programmes, and the cooperation of healthcare workers and the public in the first wave of COVID-19 while the country currently sees decline in COVID-19 cases amid, the second wave. The people still need to be careful, although the numbers of cases decline. The preventive measures, Mask and Face Shield Campaign and Yellow Campaign, including health checks, will also be conducted to raise the public health awareness than before.
The Union Minister also appreciated the efforts of healthcare staff in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, other healthcare services and COVID-19 vaccination programmes. The Union Minister emphasized the vaccination processes to continue as planned, support in a timely manner, efficient use of budgets, systematic management of relevant departments and responsibilities for the important public health issue.
The meeting was also attended by the Directors-General and Deputy Directors-General of the Ministry of Health and Sports, department heads of regions/states Public Health and Medical Services Department, Superintendents of Central Stage Hospitals, Directors and other officials. —MNA (Translated by KTH)
