The Union Minister for Health and Sports presided over a virtual coordination meeting on COVID-19 prevention yesterday.
The Union Minister discussed the preparations to be conducted in the country as the infection rate creeps up in neighbouring countries, preventive measures based on the findings on those entering the country from abroad, arrangement of Medical Research Department to test the gene of virus from confirmed cases and other prevention and control activities.
The Union Minister said the hospitals in Yangon Region resume the services as usual. The clinical management committee, hospital management committee and subcommittee will be systematically formed again. The government allowed private hospitals and clinics to conduct lab tests and medical treatment for COVID-19.
He also added the cooperation work with the official Parahitas in transferring the COVID-19 patients to relevant hospitals and health centre, contact tracing, COVID-19 vaccination programmes across the nation and public awareness campaigns.
Then, the heads of relevant departments presented their COVID-19 preventive measures, ongoing vaccination programmes and future work plans. — MNA
