MoHT Minister makes inspection tour to Bagan

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung arrived at NyaungU, Mandalay Region on 1 October and encouraged the Occupational Safety Training Course which was opened to recognize hotel and tourism services as safe services. A total of 30 trainees (10 through videoconferencing, 30 in-person) have been attending the training course, and it will be open for five days from 30-9-2021 to 4-10-2021.
During his inspection tour, the Union Minister also visited the oxygen plant established by the Min Din Foundation, which produces an average of 95 40-litre oxygen tanks per day, to meet the oxygen needs of the COVID-19 positive patients and those who need intensive care.
Afterwards, he inspected the operation of the Bagan Information and Training Centre opened by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism to provide tourist information, and he inspected the Virtual Reality Tour venue and ordered requirements for the venue.
The Union Minister also held a coordination meeting on tourism development with department officials, officials from the Hotelier Association, Tourism Entrepreneurs Association, Restaurants Association, the Tourism Transportation Association, and hotel managers in the Bagan zone. At the meeting, the Union Minister said it is necessary for each individual to strictly follow the COVID-19 prevention regulations issued by the Ministry of Health in order to coexist with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocol has been drawn up to promote Myanmar’s tourism image, and it is necessary to provide services under the Health & Safety Protocol issued by the Ministry, he added.
The Government has set tourism as a priority and we must focus on the socio-economic development of the local people from tourism, he continued. He called on the local people to work together with the Government and the private sector to develop tourism in the Bagan zone. He also said it is necessary to be ready for the resumption of tourism.
At the meeting, the Administrator of the NyaungU District General Administration Department awarded the regional certification under the Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocol to hotels that have been inspected and reopened under the COVID-19 regulations and received by a hotel manager on behalf of the Myanmar Hotelier Association (Bagan Zone).
In the afternoon, the Union Minister encouraged the first occupational safety training course conducted by outsourcing system at Popa Mountain Resort, a nature-based tourism area. — MNA
