MoIP UM receives UNHCR Resident Representative

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Resident Representative to Myanmar Ms Noriko Takagi in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Both sides cordially and frankly exchanged views on the readmission of displaced persons from Rakhine State, the wording and terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will be signed between the ministry and UNDP-UNHCR to effectively facilitate the re-entry of displaced persons from Rakhine State, conditions for UNHCR to be aware of the process and provide positive cooperation, and the extension of visas and residence permits for foreign staff of UNHCR. — MNA/CT
