The Thai ambassacdor calls on Union Minister Dr Pwint San in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San received Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar Mr Mongkol Viststump and a delegation at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
The Union minister discussed with the Thai ambassador the matter of difficulties and rights of Myanmar migrant workers. There will be support for sending workers and it will be carried out through the MoU system between the two countries, he added.
Matters in connexion with the consultation between the two governments through the labour attaché, reducing visa fees for workers despatched under the MoU system, Memorandum of Understanding on Labour Cooperation, signing the extension certificate for the agreement on the employment of workers, despatching MoU workers via airline, renewing passports for Myanmar migrant workers who completed four years of the MoU system in Thailand, issuing certificates of identity (CIs) to undocumented Myanmar workers and issuing temporary work permits (pink cards) to undocumented Myanmar workers in Thailand were also discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Win Shein, Permanent Secretary U Nyunt Win, the directors-general and officials. – MNA/TS
