Mon reports 1,071 new COVID-19 cases, 60 deaths in October

Mon state reported 1,071 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 60 deaths from the pandemic, according to the statement released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the cases in Mon State comprised of seven cases with one death in Kyaikto township; 92 cases with five deaths in Bilin township; 11 cases with no reported death in Thaton township and 89 cases with five deaths in Paung Township in October.
Similarly, there were 93 cases with four deaths in Mawlamyine township, 72 cases with three deaths in Kyaikmaraw township, 410 cases with 23 deaths in Chaungzon township, 47 cases with six deaths in Mudon township, 139 cases with three deaths in Thanbyuzayat township, 58 cases with 10 deaths in Ye township and 53 cases from returnees from Thailand.
Besides, authorities from Mon State lifted the stay-at-home order in Thaton Township on 27 October. Stay-at-home restriction has been cancelled due to a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in Thaton township, which is less than five per cent for two weeks.
The number of COVID-19 cases and death tolls in Mon State reached 6,645 cases with 466 casualties in July, 4,987 cases with 590 deaths in August and 3,209 cases with 262 casualties in September, the Ministry of Health stated. — Aye Maung/GNLM
