MoSWRR Union Minister receives ICRC resident representative

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win received a delegation led by Ms Elena Ajmone Sessera, Resident Representative to Myanmar of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the ministry yesterday.
They cordially exchanged views on various topics including the offer of humanitarian aid to the victims of the social conflict in Rakhine State through ICRC, IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies), and MRCS (Myanmar Red Cross Society). They also discussed the ministry’s expenditure of K144 billion for internally displaced persons and ICRC’s provision of prostheses for mine victims, as well as cooperation in humanitarian work between the ministry and ICRC. — MNA/MKKS
