Myanmar consulate-general, charities back women at Correctional Institute

Myanmar consulate-general supports the necessary supplies for Myanmar women behind bars.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar consulate-general and Myanmar charity organizations support and help women behind bars at the Women Correctional Institute in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The Myanmar consul-general gave a motivational speech to 40 Myanmar female prisoners and 30 Thailand Christian female prisoners. The Myanmar consulate-general and Myanmar charity organizations collaborated and donated personal supplies, ready-made food, lunch boxes, and support supplies for the mothers who gave birth behind bars.
Myanmar consul-general in Chiang Mai U Min Kyaw Linn met Director of the Women Correctional Institute Mrs Sununta Kongpakpian and they discussed issues about getting the proper healthcare, being able to keep in touch with their families, bringing humanitarian aid and the social security welfare of Myanmar women behind bars. — ASH/ TRKM
