Myanmar delegation attends 2nd day of XIII International Forum ATOMEXPO 2024

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to Russian Federation U Thit Lin Ohn, attended the second day of XIII International Forum ATOMEXPO 2024 in Sochi, Russian Federation, on 26 March.
The Union minister and party attended the roundtable talk on Advanced Training for Generation IV NPP Personnel: Driver for Sustainable Development on the same morning.
Then, they visited Proryv’s Sirius Robotics Training and Experimental Centre and observed the high-quality robots, multirole and transport robots and equipment designed for unmanned production, with interchangeable modules that machines can service. At noon, the Union minister joined the discussion on the topic of nuclear infrastructure: Drivers of Nuclear Projects at Sirius Park of Science and Art as a special guest.
In his discussion, the Union minister highlighted the critical role of nuclear energy as an essential root resource for promising, clean and sustainable energy in shaping the future, peaceful use of nuclear power that can ensure the promotion of socioeconomic life for the public, long-term commitments for safe and sustainable atomic programmes, supports of agency to develop nuclear infrastructure in Myanmar, cooperation with the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service, and active participation of Myanmar in ASEANOM.
On 25 March, the Union minister received the Russia 24 media and gave an interview regarding the use of nuclear technology that is not harmful to the environment in implementing the net zero emission programme, peaceful use of nuclear energy that can ensure the promotion of socioeconomic life for the public by following procedures, rules and regulations of IAEA to ensure peaceful use of atomic energy between Myanmar and Russia and nuclear infrastructure development measures of the country. — MNA/KTZH
