Myanmar earns US$ 139 million from highest rice and broken rice exports in February

Myanmar earned US$ 139 million from exporting 262116 tonnes of rice and broken rice in February, the highest in 11 months, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation.

In February, 59 companies exported 167,445 tonnes of rice, 94,671 tonnes of broken rice and 262,116 tonnes in total. In 11 months, 1,343,510 tonnes were exported via overseas trade and 85,713 tonnes via border trade.

Rice export by countries in February were 89,290 tonnes to Indonesia, 25,000 tonnes to Spain, 19,458 tonnes to Poland, 11,950 tonnes to the Philippines, 6142 tonnes to Malaysia and 15,605  tonnes to 18 other countries.

Broken rice export by countries in February were 34,750 tonnes to Belgium, 19,313 tonnes to China, 14,662 tonnes to Vietnam, 12,415 tonnes to Poland, 4446 tonnes to Indonesia and 9085 tonnes to 10 other countries, according to MRF data.

The export volume between  April and February was 1,429,223 tonnes while those in November, December 2023, January, and February 2024 were 175,990 tonnes worth US$ 90 million, 195,829 tonnes worth US$ 99 million, 213,605 tonnes worth US$ 111 million, and the highest 262116 tonnes worth US$ 139 million respectively.
